Fast Food & Takeaway
350 places in 305 cities.
Food to take away is the common thread, and France accounts for 150 of the 345 places, most of them boulangeries whose reviews talk about viennoiseries, baguettes and sandwiches; Boulangerie Raphael in Albertville opens at 6:30 AM, Monday to Saturday. The Atlantic coast adds crêperies serving galettes, such as Snack Crêperie Martin on the Île d'Yeu. Elsewhere the format changes. In Portugal it is the snack bar, from Snack-Bar Zig-Zag by the market in Vila do Bispo to Picnic Sagres, reviewed for bagels and sourdough; in Germany, kiosks and ice-cream stands such as Gottfried's Feinkiosk in Hanover's Leibnizhaus, open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays; in Norway, kiosks from Åndalsnes to the island of Bragdøya off Kristiansand. Lebanese bakeries turn up too: Pastelería El Libanés on Carrer dels Serrans in Valencia is reviewed for falafel and baklava, Kamil Bakery on Standard Road in north-west London for manakeesh.
