Cafés & Coffee in Gijón

Pintxos with the drinks come up in the reviews of four of Gijón's five café-bars. Cafe Bar Papi Y Mami on Calle Avelino González Mallada, in the east of the city, opens at 6:30 AM on weekdays and serves churros with breakfast coffee; it is closed at weekends. Cafe Novo on Calle de Jove y Hevia has a terrace and pours cider with its tapas, open every day from 9 AM. In the centre, Bar Pereda on Avenida de Portugal and Cafe Bar Las Estrellas on Calle Lastres both stay open until 11 PM or later; Las Estrellas closes on Thursdays. Silver cafe is out in the Santa Olaya y Musel industrial estate, with a terrace.
